Gerbert (c.945-1003)  This French monk invented the first mechanical clock. He became Pope Sylvester II in 999.

Fahrenheit, Gabriel (1686-1736)  A German physicist who invented the mercury thermometer (1714) and devised the Fahrenheit temperature scale.

Franklin, Benjamin (1706-1790) This American inventor proved that lightning is a form of electricity.

Ford, Henry (  1863-1947 )An American engineer who built the Ford Model T and pioneered mass-production techniques in industry.
